What's the difference between being "registered" versus being a "full member"?

Registered users can comment on blog posts and apply for full membership. Full members, in addition to that, can participate in the forums where we do a little more in-depth discussion, prep blog posts, and otherwise discuss what to do with this here community.

Why does this difference exist?

We're trying to keep the trolls out, when and where it's possible.

How does one become a Full Member?

Technically, one must register first, and then after registering a moderator must approve full membership status. The moderator staff's chief aim is to find folks who will debate in good faith; as this is tricky to measure, we're going catch-as-catch can. Hint: if you comment on the blogs and your input is favorably noticed, you may end up promoted to full membership as a gift someday.

Can I donate to become a Full Member?

No. While financial support is appreciated, that doesn't really establish your bonafides. (And we don't really have a means of donation at the moment anyways.)
